V6?
Hi, think I have made the decision to upgrade to version 5.3 from my version 4.5. My question is, I have seen talk on the forums about a possible version six. I do not want to spend $200 on version 5.3 and then have version six come out shortly after and have to spend another $200, can you advise? If version six is coming out shortly and is going to be much better on the ram etc. I would rather wait for version six. Please let me know.

Re: V6?
Don’t buy v5.3. Be patient. I’ll say no more.

Re: V6?
Yes, V6 is around the corner but the P3D market is basically dead so you have to look at what add-ons you have and if you think any of those devs are actually going to make them compatible with V6. Then ask yourself if you really need the $200 version. Most people just use the Academic version. Maybe V5 is the way to go, at least for a bit, because the first version of a new P3D is always very rough, with few compatible add-ons.

Ray,
The comment is intended to mean that he believes, based on what you have said, that we all know that you are a beta tester.
So that is where I said that then he knows more than I do ;-) because I do not know that.

Re: V6?
Thanks Jorgen. I’m not a beta tester. But I can make reasonable guesses based on what has gone before. Nothing radical because it would breach the agreement with Microsoft.
Small but hopefully good increments. And backward compatibility. Given the time since v5.3HF2 was released a new version is now due.

Re: V6?
Exactly. I can't imagine HOW the v6 developers would have to twist to get back the audience that has now moved to MSFS. That includes me. Bug response time, patch release frequency, transparency of future features - LM is hopelessly losing to Microsoft in all of this.

So why say its something worth waiting for? P3D is finished.Ray Proudfoot wrote: ↑Wed May 03, 2023 12:15 pm Thanks Jorgen. I’m not a beta tester. But I can make reasonable guesses based on what has gone before. Nothing radical because it would breach the agreement with Microsoft.

Re: V6?
That's your opinion. Mine differs. I'd rather use a simulator than a game.

But your reply above is giving the impression you know something no one else does. Very misleading.
