Landing Gear and Flap Hesitation

Post by Maarp »

G'day all,

I've been having a problem with landing gear and flaps. It doesn't happen every time but often enough to be an issue.

On approach the landing gear/flaps won't move when you attempt to lower them. Then after a delay (usually once you've started your go-around) they will lower normally. This is very annoying!

It happens with multiple aircraft (all addons) and after both short and long flights.

I wonder if anyone else has experienced the problem and how you fixed it.

Many thanks in advance

Hi Martyson,

I'm using P3D v4 and I don't fly with the default aircraft. All the planes that I use are addons, ususally Flight 1's Super King Air, Quality Wings 757 and lately Just Flight's Mosquito.

Cheers

Test the P3D aircraft and report results.

Gear/flap overspeed? On many add-ons e.g. the gear simply doesn't extend if you exceed VLE.

Test the P3D aircraft and report results.
For example, try the default LM P3D Mooney Bravo.

That's a possibility and I'll test it out today. Thanks!

What's the point of testing if you don't fly this aircraft?
Do you know if the default Mooney has gear damage built into the FDE?
Another question is if aircraft damage is enabled?

You test default P3D aircraft if you are having some problems.

Or, you could just run through all the General Debugging steps:

Looks like this was the problem in this case. Thanks for the heads up!

Warwick,

Glad to hear you found no problems with P3D aircraft or your Add-on aircraft.

Note:
Each aircraft (P3D default or payware) has many specific performance limitations including takeoff/landing gear/flap extension/retraction limitations that must be followed. All performance limitations should be listed in the aircraft manuals.

Great :)
Note: When flying jets you usually extend the gear as late as possible on approach due to drag, noise and comfort reasons.
The first stage or stages of flaps are usually extended before the gear.

Hope this helps.

Thanks everyone for your ideas, it's great to know what's going on now so I'll be able to fly with a bit more confidence.
