Cessnar 172 Hardware Cockpit - Software Wings & Prop

Post by capteinjack737p3d »

Hello Flightsimmers,

I found in Forum here one or two Discussions about having the Wings and the Propeller simulated , but not the interior of a Plane, lets say the C172. In my Case the Wings would show up on a 180° Degree Wall, where Beamers project the surrounding of P3D on it. In Front of me, I wished to see the Propeller spinning.

Well, for now the best Solution for that was to go in a external View and configure the xyz axis in the corresponding cfg (aircraft.cfg) so that you are"inside" the external Plane. Then experiment with the added Value called: NearClipOverride="0-2" in the Virtual Cockpit Section of that cfg , it was the "Spot" View Section,
which gives a area around the eyepoint which was "not" drawed, don´t know how to explain it better, but that makes the virtual Cockpit nearly almost disappear, while the Wings and the Prop are still showing. You have to find a compromise between Values.

But, and thats the last 5% which miss on that Solution, you get black little pieces drawed of the front of the Plane (where the motor is inside) showing up, directly in front of you. That is bad for the ilusion.

Question, is there another way to hide the Fuselage, these Times today, as in past?
Are there new ideas out there, to only show the WIngs and the Prop, without any Virtual Cockpit Stuff?

Would be great to hear your input!
Thanks
Regards
Jörg
